British Machine Vision Conference

From 20^th to 24^th November, Dr Carlos Moreno-García, with the aid of members of RGU’s Interactive Machine Vision (IMV) research group and chairs from different academic institutions, including Mexicans such as Gerardo Aragón Camarasa (University of Glasgow), Óscar Méndez (University of Surrey) and Angélica Avilés Rivero (Cambridge University), hosted the 34^th British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC) in Aberdeen, Scotland, plus a “workshop day” in different venues across the city.

This conference is CORE2023 rank A (“excellent conference, and highly respected in a discipline area”) and attracted 400 researchers from 15 different countries presenting their latest work on Computer Vision and 3D Modelling, with the participation of keynote speakers from Facebook London, University of Nottingham, TU Munich and Caltech.

During the workshop day, RGU’s Sir Ian Wood Building hosted the “Project Aria’s workshop” run by researchers from Reality Labs Research, Meta. Our visitors enjoyed the best of Aberdeen, including a welcoming reception at the townhouse hosted by the city’s Lord Provost.
