Women in Leadership Workshop

Building on the success of previous workshops, Red Global MX UK offers a comprehensive course aimed at empowering young women in Mexican universities and institutions. This inclusive course fosters self-reflection, leadership potential development, and is designed for students of all genders and sexual orientations.

Participants will engage in discussions, analyse data, learn project management skills, and hear from inspiring guest speakers.

Climate Action & Sustainability Initiatives

Realising the urgency of combating climate change, Red Global MX UK partnered with the European Union Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF) to develop a citizen climate action toolkit. In collaboration with diaspora academics, Mexican experts, and civil society organisations, this toolkit empowers Mexican citizens with actionable steps and knowledge for fostering a more sustainable future.

In September 2023, we hosted a two-day event in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, to unveil this toolkit and raise awareness about the importance of citizen-led climate action.

Women in Leadership: Empowering Women in Mexican Academia

In September 2023, Red Global MX members, Salma Lopez and Valentina Martinez partnered with the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, Mexico to deliver an impactful “Women in Leadership” workshop. This initiative aims to support and develop female leaders within academic and medical sectors.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Participants engaged in a focused workshop session addressing a critical topic related to women in leadership.
  • Collaborative development and distribution of marketing materials ensured strong visibility for the event.
  • Proactive outreach to potential sponsors promoted the workshop and secured resources for its success.
  • Choice of virtual or in-person format offered flexibility and accessibility for participants.
  • Facilitators led insightful small group discussions and activities, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collection of notes, media, and detailed feedback will ensure continuous improvement of the programme

This workshop represented a significant step forward for the “Women in Leadership” initiative. We are excited to see the continued growth of women in leadership positions within academia and beyond.

“Personal Esencial MXUK” – Recognising Essential Mexican Workers in the UK

The Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom, its Consular Section, and the Red Global MX UK Chapter have launched the “Personal Esencial MXUK (ES)” initiative. This project aims to highlight and celebrate the vital contributions of Mexican essential workers during the ongoing pandemic. Additionally, the initiative strives to showcase the diverse skills and backgrounds of the Mexican diaspora in the UK.
