The Centre for Mexican Studies UNAM- UK, The Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, RedGlobal MX-UK, with the support of the Embassy of Mexico in the UK, invite you to come together and express your solidarity with Mexico during Covid-19. You can help in many ways and every little counts.
We have identified three organisations that will benefit from your support.
Alimentos para Todos
Alimento para Todos (Food for Everyone) is a food and basic goods bank with a track record of 25 years of experience, supporting 60,000 people in poverty every week. They collect and distribute more than 1,300 tons of food donations every month.
The COVID19 pandemic has affected the livelihoods of millions of Mexicans, who are struggling to make ends meet. Alimento para Todos has seen a 60% increase in requests for support since March. They’ve responded by increasing the number of people they help by 40%, focusing on the 24,009 who are most vulnerable such as elderly people, single mothers, homeless people, HIV and cancer patients, migrants and unemployed people. So far, they’ve delivered 328,000 parcels (despensas) with food and essential supplies across Mexico City, Estado de Mexico, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Hidalgo.
COVID19 is posing a threat to our health and our lives. Now imagine not knowing if you’ll be able to feed your family tonight.
Alimento para Todos urgently needs your help to prevent thousands of Mexican families and vulnerable people from going hungry. Each despensa contains a can of vegetables, beans, rice, lentils, two cans of tuna, soup,coffee, kitchen oil, sugar, a can of chillies, toilet paper and a cleaning kit.

Support for resident doctors and nurses
With your help, Convida and Fundación UNAM will support more nurses, and resident doctors in Mexico’s public hospitals to receive most needed PPE and medical equipment.
