Empowering Women in Mexican Academia
In September 2023, Red Global MX members, Salma Lopez and Valentina Martinez partnered with the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua, Mexico to deliver an impactful “Women in Leadership” workshop. This initiative aims to support and develop female leaders within academic and medical sectors.
Workshop Highlights:
- Participants engaged in a focused workshop session addressing a critical topic related to women in leadership.
- Collaborative development and distribution of marketing materials ensured strong visibility for the event.
- Proactive outreach to potential sponsors promoted the workshop and secured resources for its success.
- Choice of virtual or in-person format offered flexibility and accessibility for participants.
- Facilitators led insightful small group discussions and activities, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Collection of notes, media, and detailed feedback will ensure continuous improvement of the programme
This workshop represented a significant step forward for the “Women in Leadership” initiative. We are excited to see the continued growth of women in leadership positions within academia and beyond.
