The Royal Academy of Engineering’s Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) is a programme designed to empower engineers and technology innovators around the world. Through access to mentoring, networking, and high-quality skills training, LIF helps innovators transform their cutting-edge ideas into commercially viable and impactful ventures.

On July 18th, 2023, Red Global MX UK, in collaboration with the Mexican Embassy in the UK, hosted an exhibition spotlighting Mexican innovators participating in the LIF programme. Held at the Official Residence of Mexico, the objective of this event was twofold:

  • Increase visibility and connections for LIF participants within the Mexican community in the UK.
  • Offer a glimpse into the remarkable science-based projects and innovations being developed in Mexico.

Participants included representatives from the Royal Academy of Engineering, Oxentia Consulting, the Mexican Embassy and Consulate, and members of Red Global MX UK’s innovation and entrepreneurship pillars.

The event showcased an array of transformative Mexican innovations, including:

  • Mobs: Obstetric Monitor – An obstetric monitor to prevent postpartum haemorrhage [Natalia Sil Mejia]
  • Biobotix Labs – Gamified physical therapy solutions for home use [Sergio Roque]
  • Timplus – Teacher-focused platforms for sharing educational activities [Patricia Gomez]
  • RCPractica – Portable, easy-to-learn CPR training devices [Mariana Delgado]
  • Vuvo Solar/tuSolar – Accessible, tool-free solar power systems for businesses and homes [Luis Lopez Martinelli]
  • Robot Dental SA – Robotic systems for customisable orthodontic care [Alfredo Gilbert]
  • Amaranthus/SuperCriticalPlant – Sustainable herbal processing solutions [Raul Tejeida]
  • RENAR – Water sustainability and climate adaptation infrastructure [Alfredo Lau]
  • Quitomex Advanced Wound Care Systems – Advanced wound care systems [Pedro Ornelas]
  • Wastewater treatment systems to remove stubborn contaminants [Francisco Rodriguez]]
