There’s never a reason not to lend a hand to others!

Enrique Gelista has initiated a new endeavour to aid Mexicans and Latinos who have relocated to the UK and require assistance in job hunting or wish to further their professional careers in the UK – and you can be part of this initiative.

“Starting a new in the UK can be challenging. When I first moved to London, I already had over 11 years of experience in the financial services sector in Mexico and LATAM. But in the UK, it’s crucial to tailor your skills and experiences to suit the local market in order to maintain your career progression,”

Numerous Mexicans and Latinos move to the UK either for educational pursuits or because their partners have secured positions in the country. Often, they find it challenging to navigate the continuation of their professional careers. Adapting your CV, job hunting, handling interviews, and understanding the UK’s recruitment process can be daunting tasks.

Relocating to a different country can be stressful, and job hunting can pose a significant challenge. This is where the Mentoring programme steps in to provide support to many individuals.

You don’t have to be a Senior Executive to lend a hand or think that you’re not capable of mentoring someone. If you’ve lived and worked in the UK, either in a company or as an entrepreneur launching a business, you can assist more people in a surprisingly straightforward manner. There’s always a way to help others!

“I’m driven by a passion for community support. I hold the conviction that we should give back to the community and assist others in forging a better world. Many voice complaints about the government or life conditions, but it’s high time we took action. I’m convinced that a few hours of our time per year could drastically impact others’ lives. It’s a small request when you consider that someone else could greatly benefit from your help.”

In this fresh mentoring initiative, we’re on the hunt for volunteers with experience in any field to become a part of our mentorship pool. These mentors will offer straightforward guidance to those who need it.

How does the programme operate? The mentors constitute a pool, and we aim to pair them with a mentee based on industry or nationality. This pairing allows for a shared understanding of the distinctions between job hunting in Latin America and the UK. Mentors are then able to provide basic support and guidance to the mentees about job acquisition and techniques for career advancement in the UK.

We aim to pair mentors and mentees based on industry, but any professional experience you’ve gained in the UK can be invaluable in assisting others to carve out their professional paths.

The programme can be conducted either face-to-face or online, depending on what’s more convenient for both parties, thereby enabling you to aid more people. The programme is divided into six sessions, each lasting 60 minutes, over a period of 4 to 6 months.

If you’re interested in joining the programme, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
